Wife and I will be in Petersburg/Wrangell/Ketchican for a few days in early June. Planning on renting a boat riding out for an overnight at a pubic use cabin for the night and then back to the ferry the next day. Problem is I see a ton of cabins on the map but have no idea which one might be best to stop and drop pots by and/or try our hand at some Salmon. Meanwhile I don't want to end up on the wrong side of some bay and not be able to get back for the continuation of our ferry ride out of Alaska.

I found a great thread earlier that discussed someone pursuing Steelhead while staying in public use cabings but don't know if that information would really apply to our pursuit of Crab and Salmon.

Thanks for the help.

By the way if anyone wants to take us out I could return the favor if you ever come to Fairbanks by putting you on some great Grayling holes.
