    Default Kicker Size?

So, I'm trying to find a kicker motor for my 20' Hewes Sportjet. I'm looking for a 8 or 9.9, but found a good deal on a 20hp Honda LS. Do you guys think it would be too big? The wieght difference is only about 12 lbs frm the 9.9 to the 20. Plus the 20 could be used with a smaller inflatable if need be. Any ideas?

20 will not push your boat any faster than a 8 or 10 high thrust motor. It is only a good deal if it costs a lot less than a 8 or 10, otherwise it is just extra weight using more fuel. It would be a real handful for to move it off your boat and onto an inflatable.

Another point to consider is most inflatables only need a 15 inch shaft. How big is the inflatable? Will the 20 be to much or not enough power?

I see your point. I don't have an inflatable anymore either. Just looking down the road for posibilities. I didn't really think the 20 would push it faster. Used 8 or 9's aren't readily available right now and this motor is about the same price as a good used 8 or 9. I guess I'll have to wait it out a little while.
