    Ship Creek Closed to Sport Fishing Above Chugach Power Plant Dam

    An emergency order has been issued to close sport fishing on Ship Creek from the ADF&G regulatory markers located 100 feet upstream of the Chugach Power Plant dam to the upstream side of the Reeve Boulevard bridge from April 26 through September 30, 2010. These restrictions go into effect Monday, April 26, 2010.

    Campbell, Chester, Sixmile Creeks
    Emergency orders have been issued to restrict sport fishing on Campbell and Chester creeks, including University Lake and the Sixmile Creek drainage on Elmendorf Air Force Base. All sport fishing is closed from April 26 through June 14 to protect spawning rainbow/steelhead trout and will be open the remainder of the year to catch-and-release only. These restrictions go into effect Monday, April 26, 2010, for the remainder of the year.

    Bird Creek Closed to Sport Fishing Through July 13
    An emergency order has been issued to close the Bird Creek drainage to all sport fishing. This restriction goes into effect on Monday, April 26, 2010, through Tuesday, July 13, 2010. The department is taking this action to reduce the incidental catch and illegal harvest of king salmon in the Bird Creek drainage.

    Same here. Same for Ship... that puts a damper on the spring trout fishing in the bowl. Oh well...

    oh well, the only one i dont understand is sixmile those fish spawn in the sixmile river. you can literally go down to the outlet and see hundreds of rainbows spawning, and your not even allowed to fish for them there. hmmm i guess willow will do.
