Thread: Bison draws

    Default Bison draws

Just a quick question for those in the know. Are non-residents allowed to put in for bison hunts in Alaska? I don't put in for them myself so that is why I ask.

    Default Yes

Yes, but not that many do. The year that I hunted, there was 1 winner out of 130 (cow+bull) delta tags that were awarded that year. It was recently changed to once/lifetime for non-residents.

Is this drawing thread number 148?

This hunt should be resident only, so Akres can change his yes to my opinion of NO.

Yes, you can apply after you purchase a non-res hunting license first. . .

Non-residents do apply for bison hunts up here, but why they are allowed to is beyond me. It's not like everyone gets a chance to hunt them or anything. And to the residents that have drawn a bison tag before shouldn't be allowed to draw for them again. Total bs.

    Default Bison

I drew a buffalo tag this year and I am considering it a once in a lifetime hunt. I think if you live here in Alaska and you apply year after year for this hunt you should get more "points" and have more than 1 name in for the drawing. Once you do finally draw, then your done for 10 years. If you a non-resident and you draw, then your done, for 15 years. Non-residents get no "points" and only one name in each year. Or maybe only award a set # or tags for non-residents.

When I'm dictator, non-residents won't be allowed to hunt in the state period. When I'm dicatator, there will be a vesting system in our great state: After living here for 5 years, you can hunt Caribou, after 7 moose, after 10 you can hunt sheep and bears. When I'm dictator only Alaska Natives will be allowed to hunt bison! Its only because of you irresponsible white folks that there are only a handful of Bison left to hunt!!!

Some folks call me a radical, I'm not sure why?

really, you will never be "dictator" because of how you feel. us white people are why you have roads, airplanes, hospitals, and all the "other" great things you have today. just keep that in mind.

BTW, you a radical and ridiculous.

    Ummm, jcorwin4278?

I'm pretty sure that was a joke.

See how it started a little out there and just got more and more wacky?

    That's usually a mark that it's a joke.
