Default Need Help on New Penn Reels

    Hi all,

My trusty 9m Level Wind gave up the ghost last season. I went to repair it and the more broke in the process. I'm looking for a new Penn but I'm reading so bad reviews. Mine is 16 years old. Has anyone seen any issues with Penn's lately ?

The new Penn reels are made in China and have not been holding up very well from what I hear. Try to find one that is made in the U.S.A. and you will have a dependable reel. Also you can get just about any part for a Penn reel at www.mikesreelrepair.com that you need.

Penn spinning reels are legendary. Do more research Ron, you have read some isolated problems perhaps. I have several of the Penn Spinfishers and they are among the nicest spinning reels I have ever used. Lots of reports from other Penn users in this recent thread....

The two loudest sounds known to man: a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and a gun that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.
