Default Devil's Club (thorny brush) does it hurt horses?

I've asked this question on another forum and gotten some good feedback but still have a few questions I hope to get answered--

I've been living in Alaska a long time but I've never had my horses here. In June I'm bringing them to my place in Wasilla. The problem is we have a lot of devil's club. The thorns on this stuff break off in your skin when you touch it, its some NASTY stuff!

My question is does this stuff hurt horses? I'd think the thorns would tear the heck out of their legs and muzzle. Any horse people around?

We had horses and cows in pastures full of devils club. They just seem to stomp it down and kill it eventually. Never had an issue with the thorns bothering them.

with all the hair and thick hide it would be like rubbing up aginst devils club with my welding leathers on. I ride thru patchs of it quite often without any issues what so ever
