    Default Target Practice

I'm new to Alaska, but now live in Wasilla. Are there any places to target practice around Palmer-Wasilla besides the shooting ranges in Palmer and Birchwood?

    Default Sutton

Hit Jonesville road in sutton. drive until you see a large gravel pit on the left of road. Lots of folks sight in there. Never heard of any problems. 100 yrds easy but might be out of luck if your looking for 200yrd+.

Just a note on that site: "target practice" should not include dumping your trash there and shooting hoes in it/busting glass/leaving a mess. Hundreds of man hours are spent each year cleaning up after sensless people at this site.

    Default Totally agree

I hate to see any area trashed. If taget practice is what a person is after then a half sheet of plywood and a paper target work great. I like the orange peal targets best. Once i am done I cart my plywood and targets home and then toast the paper in my burn barrel. This leaves the area clean and usable for any purpose.
