DM825 Koyokuk Controlled Use Area
Can anyone offer any information on DM825. From what I can find so far it includes the Koyokuk Contolled Use Area which was closed to mooose hunting other than for residents because of a sustained yield goal. Is the Moose populations now back up? When was the last time they allowed non-residents and planes to fly into the area? Any information is greatly appreciated.
I might be wrong
But best I can tell the KCUA and hunts within, including DM825, a non-resident guided hunt, is closed to aircraft. I can't think of a time the KCUA has been accessible to aircraft, at least in that area.
The Kateel, upriver of that area is open to aircraft.
Your guide can tell you more, and you can also contact the area biologist in Galena. The information is enclosed below:

Again, for good info, contact Glenn. He knows the area and all the rules/regulations intimately.
Who do you have lined up for a guide?
You'll be guiding on the big K? Been there yet? I met some guys on the Kateel w/ planes 2 years back. Can't remember names though. Also met some of our ODD boys that hang out now and again here.
Good guys to have in a camp when your motor takes a dump and you have the wrong tools.
