    Default Kalmbach Lake

Anyone ever catch nice fish at this lake? TSS and I tried it for a couple of hours yesterday and did't catch anything. I did see a nice bow before the camera went dead though, makes me think there are some nice fish in there.

years ago I caught a hog out of there that fed the whole family. It was march and I didn't realize how cold it was. I rode in on my old polaris 340, by the time i got my hole drilled I and my hook baited (pautskis fireballs) my hands were freezing so I crammed the handle of the rod in my backpack that had a thermos in it and cinched it up around the reel and hopped on the snowmachicne and raced back to the truck. AFter I got warmed up I ripped back out to get my rod and pack I noticed from a distance that my rod was doubled over and the pack was sliding towards the hole! It took a couple attempts to get the fish to come thru the hole but I swear it was the size of a nice sockeye. Oh and when I got home I learned it was friggn -26 out! no wonder I froze my gonads off.
