Default Double rifle shoot at Birchwood

A few of us are getting together today to shoot our doubles and see the newly acquired rifles of some of our members at Birchwood. Nothing formal but people will start to gather by 11 am or so. Unfortunately my Searcy 450 Nitro is delayed and will not be here until next week or so but both Brett and Mike will have new toys to play with.
If you have any interest in double rifles stop by and say hello.

I was lucky enough to be able to put several dozen rounds through a Doumolin(SP) SXS in 500/465 several years ago. What a hoot. Couldn't believe how accurate they were. Grapefruit size groups at 75 yards with 480 grain loads.

That was good fun today! My Hollis 500/450 NE is a winner. I need the LOP lengthened. I was icing my cheek on the way to my talk this afternoon. The shoulder is fine, but the cheek feels like I was in a bar fight! An extra 1/2" to 3/4" will make a big difference!

Snowwolfe's cheek was pretty puffy when he left.. I bet it's tender today! I'm doing good except for some slight tenderness in my shoulder after shooting 180+ rounds thu all of them.

edit; and the middle finger of my trigger hand is swollen from getting smacked with the trigger guard of the 450 NE.

Stop by next time. Lots of guys walked over to see what we were doing and ended up getting to shoot some nice rifles.
