It all depends on the areas they put in for. If you put in for areas with 80% drawing rates, you are gonna draw lots of tags!

    SHENANIGANS?
You want to see shenanigans, look up the BOG Members and their families, check the hunt numbers and then go back and see which hunts they spoke out for or instituted. "Lucky" for sure.

I've put in every year for most everything and I've drawn my tag a couple time's in 18 years, I know how the system works. My neighbor of 2 years (1990's) used to be in charge of the draw, lets say for 2 years I was a happy hunter. The first year I thought I was lucky, the second year I knew something was up when he asked me "how did you like last years tag?"
    I'm just sayin... shenanigans

I took the first several sets and added the draw odds from the supplement. Starting to go blind so I didn't finish the rest of them, but some of these guys drew multiple very low odds tags. Seems kinda fishy, but with the number of applicants and tags awarded, I guess it's possible. By the looks of it though, it seems pretty fishy that this many people could be awarded several hard to get tags in the same year. Odd that three out of three of my families name drew the identical permit as well, DM685. 17% chance to draw and we went 3 out of 3 for family with the same last name, and 4 out of 4 for our hunting party.

They way I see it most of the folks on this list that drew elk tags won't go... They were probably like me put in for it without doing any research. Well they will now and see what it will cost just to fly to the hunt area. The overall cost of the elk hunts will make anyone not want to go except for me I have it pretty much all figured out even talked to Andrews Airways yesterday... The ones that drew sheep tags probably wont go especially the carpenter creek hunt. They see how close it is to their house and think oh thsi is going to be easy, but logistically it is a nightmare. Unless you plan on taking a plane in and getting dropped off. I gurantee you majority of them will only use one of these tags and that is the Moose tag.

Several years ago in oregon the head honcho for Fish and Game and some of his employess got caught up in some shady stuff. Family members getting drawn for choice hunts ie Big Horn sheep tags in some cases themselves getting drawn for some sweet tags. Anyhow investigation was done they were all canned LOL

    Default lotto

I say they change it to a week long televised lotto with all applicants name in a barrel, kind of like they do at a Ducks Unlimited venue, and draw, live, in front of every one. There would be multiple barrels, one for each set of tags and if you put in for it your name would be added. That my friend would be a great week.

So, you're complaining that possible "luck of the draw" for a few folks who put in for who knows how many permits is some insider conspiracy, yet you also admit that you were part of said conspiracy before? So what room do you have to complain?!? Are you just mad that you're not "part of the insider system" anymore?

Congrats to the lucky hunters. With many thousands of people applying, there are always bound to be some who are luckier than others. Heck, even our new F&G assisstant commissioner had a pretty good round of drawing. Congrats to all of them.

I'm not buying the shady stuff for a second.

This is why some folks would like to see points of some sort....still might get multiple tags but those who have been waiting for multiple years with nothing would be on the list too.

I know I am happy to have been lucky enough to only be in the drawing 4 years (this year I didn't put in for goat) and drawn 3 goat tags....but I also feel guilty because I have met friends who have applied for up to 14 years with no goat tag.

    congrats to the lucky bunch...

You must be new here. You may want to add a couple digits to your thread counter there, maybe a couple extra zeros following the 1, and that would be a conservative count.
