    Default Bear bait pictures

Since bear baiting is around the corner, I thought I would throw a couple pics on here that I think are cool. The one of the bear was taken with a trail cam. The other my wife took.

The grizz eventually ran me off my bait stand. The blacks stopped showing up after 13 different grizz showed year after year.

Feel free to throw some of your cool baiting pics on this thread.

I am 5'8" for a reference of the bear size. The drum is a full size 55 gallon drum.

This grizz showed at the bait stand with-in a day on schedule every year, then he would eat three small squares a day until I pulled my bait. Last year I thought this bear ate himself to death.

This guy showed for the first time as normal, then ate about 200 loaves of bread, 100 pounds of dog food, 10 gallons of molasses, and 100s of packs of snack cakes/donuts in about 6 hours. He was VERY hungry, I guess. He then disappeared for 8 days. I thought he ate himself to death. That is alot of calories, even for a bear. I think that amount of food must have put him in a comatose state and he took a long nap again. The bread alone was about 500,000 calories.

Has anyone ever had a bear eat this much food in one sit?

Of note: I noticed grizzly bears showed for the first time every year at my bait stand with-in a day or two. The bears showed up over a 3 week period for the first time, but each bear had a specific date every year he showed up. This makes me wonder if bears have an internal clock that says "Hey wake up today!", or do they wake up based on available food.

    Talking color phase bear

Hard to tell if it's a blonde or not. Kind of looks like its ben out of the den a while and may have rubbed a bald spot.
