Default where to head this weekend

So, two years ago this time, I was driving up the ALCAN. Last year this time, I was in afghanistan. This year, I'd love to catch some fish, but don't know where to go this early in the year.

If all goes according to plan, we'll be taking a toyhauler out for our first rv trip. Me, wife, 6 week old son, and 3 dogs... so the fishing can't be far from the trailer, and I probably need to stay near the bank/beach. Other than that we don't care where, just getting out of town/the house after a long winter (and pregnancy). Thanks for the suggestions!

For fishing I think you still will need an ice auger?? Unless you go south...Hope you have fun either way, thanks for serving!!

I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

I agree with AKPM and Bowdy. check into what is going on in homer. If the weather is gentle you might get into some butts. winter king fishing is going on down there too. Other than that things are locked up pretty good still.

Congrats on the birth of your new boy
