Default Lets see your bear rugs!!

Well, got the word from my taxidermist on Saturday that my rug was finished. I was very impressed with the five month turn around but now I have to empty my savings account to pay it off! The issue I face now is that the bear is 8'7" wide and my small walls in government housing are 8' high. I would like to see a few pics on how you guys position your rugs on the wall so I can work out a plan for when it gets here. He sent me a few pics today before he crates it up for shipping...

Nice looking bear. Who did the job?
I had the same problem and just figured a walls a wall. The bear is 9 feet across and the walls are 8 feet so there is some overlap but thats alright. It looks ok and I've gotten used to it.

Grizzlykiller, Dennis Dumont/Montana did the work. Did you tack the front paws to the ceiling somehow?

Yes I did. The rug has the lttle rings on the back of it and they work ok but the paw would droop down off the ceiling so I shoved a couple clear tacks into the felt to hold it tight.
Worked fine and you can't see em.

CGswimmer....that looks great. I bet your itchin to get that package.

I've got one set to be done soon too. I went with almost a closed mouth and posted up ears......we'll see how it turns out soon. My package will have a sheep and bear from the same taxi.

I feel ya on draining the savings......I've got a pile of money for taxi fees ready to launch.

Ya, that pic was taken right after we first got it home, it was hanging on the wall a few minutes later.

9'2, Shot 2009, got the rug a month ago and hung it on the wall with screws in the studs for the rings sewn in and some staples in the felt to help take out any wrinkles. Skull was 26" SCI, 25 13/16 B & C Brown Bear so just missed minimum book. Will come in at #25 in the SCI books for Grizz. My wife was the one who put him on the bed and picked him up for me!!!

I see both of the bottles of crown have been tapped in to. Looks like you're getting ready for a hunt

    Default no pix...

I don't have pix of my rugs, but my 8 1/2' brown bear's leg and paw is on the ceiling because there was not enough room. I have 2 friends with their rugs totally on the ceiling. my 2 black bear rugs are in the stairwell where there is a lot more wall space.
My 9 1/2' brown bear rug is wrapped around a lifesized form, actually saving on space. (but not $$$$)

Default wrapped up on the ceiling

I just wrapped it from the floor up the wall and onto the ceiling. The people at Knights said to use nails thru the hide not the felt. Tried screws by it caught the hair and didn't work very well. Nice rug's everybody. sorry I can't send pic.'s I'm still out of town. Tom

6'10" taken in 96'. The skull qualified for the book when green but when officially dried I missed it my 1/16"!
