    Default POW Bear Meat Processors

I'm looking at a DIY bear hunt on POW and wandering if anyone can reccomend a meat processor that makes good breakfast sausage from bear?

Maybe someone in Craig has a better answer but I recommend just taking your meat home and getting it processed there. Fish box or two, take home and have your local fella or lady do it. As fora as I know there isn't one. Could be wrong, my folks just take the meat.

Hi Guys, I'm in Craig and we haven't had a true butcher here for about 6 years. Best to go with Gooch's advice. Not hard to make it yourself as well. With a grinder and a smoker you can make some pretty good stuff.

Yea ... that's too bad ... Mel used to make some killer Bear Peperoni ...

The grocery stores won't take in Bear meat around here .. to much worms and parasites in that stuff.

Some spring Bear meat on the Island can be pretty rough !!!!!

    Default Thanks

    Thanks for the information.
I usually do my own sausage but was hoping not to freeze the meat for the trip home then thaw it out to grind and make sausage then re-freeze.
