Default Does tube size really make a difference?

I was looking at two Leupold scopes in the store and a 3-9x40 VX3 did not seem as bright as a Leupold Euro in the same size. The Euro has the 30 mm tube compared to the one inch in the VX3. I have never used a 30 mm scope but will need a new one soon. Wondering if anyone has thoughts on this. Thanks, Mark

    Default Euro

I bought the Leupold Euro 3-9x50 scope and compared it with a Vari X III 3.5-10x50 scope last night. At 9:30pm EST I could see better with the Euro. How much, I would say 5 more minutes that I could possibly shoot. Is the 30 mm tube worth it?? Price wise it isn't much different than the one inch. Any thoughts??

I have two 30mm scopes, a Meopta Artemis 2-8x (no longer offerred), and a Burris. I will slowly (as money allows), be going to 30mm.

I think I will be following in your footsteps. Seems all the higher priced scopes are 30 mm. Thanks
