Default What length shaft for a kicker

Could I get away with a short shaft kicker on a 20" transom? I am not trying to get on plane so would I be right if as long as the prop sits below water line I would be ok?

Depending on the angle of the hulls V and where you place the kicker, a short shaft should be just about right for a 20" transom. I use a short shaft (really a medium) and it works fine on my 20" transom hull.

Tried it myself and it worked as long as there was no waves...every pitch and roll caused cavitation or the prop came out of the water. It`s your safety net and if it doesn`t work you can be in some trouble.
