    Default AK Fur Prices?

I am curious as to what the pelts of some of the animals in AK go for?
Perhaps now and maybe in years gone by when they peaked?
Here in IL I remember selling Red Fox for $76 at one time.
    M Rats were over $6.00
    Big Coon could bring $35.00
    Mink $25 - 30
    Blanket Beaver maybe $20 - 25
    Coyote $15 $20
Those were Mid 1970's prices - never saw a lynx, martin, wolverine etc sell
thought you folks could enlighten me?
    Thanks!

    wolvarine\wolf-$200-400
    marten $60-90
    lynx $100-300
of course prices change quite a bit im sure other guys could answer the question better.

Thanks! I was beginning to think everyone in AK must just EAT them since no one jumped in!
Just fun to learn what animal pelts bring or have brought that are not common in ones home area.
    How about Otter?
I see a lot of them when I am in Canada - I sure did not realize they got as big as some I have seen!
I appreciate the feedback! Used to trap a lot as a young man.
    Thanks!

Wow Randy, that was a busy week on the traps for sure. Looks like lots of Coons down there. I'd love to go Raccoon calling, apparently they come in ready to do business. There's a video online of one trying to steal a guys electronic caller.

    Randy,

Otters are usually around $100 tanned. I saw green go for about $60 at the ATA auction this weekend.

    Default Huntress!

    Thank you young Lady!
I may have to buy one to hang up in the house - I have all kinds of other neat critters all around the place!
Snowcamoman:never called in coons in - sure do see a lot while in early archery deer season running around, not many trappers down here anymore.
I would work construction when younger and take off the first two weeks - if weather held it would not be uncommon to catch over 500 coon during that time. Ran about 9 miles of river by jon boat - then would run about 200 miles of line by truck for fox and coyote!
I have some pics in my albums if you click on my profile!
Miss those days for sure - and I wonder why my back hurts all the time!
