    Default King SAlmon Derby

Coal Point is acting as the headquarters of the derby. As of 4pm, no results yet as to the winner as the weigh-in has not been completed. However, there were 865 anglers, 259 boats, 130 fish caught. Second largest/most attended Homer Derby since inception...good weather and crowd...now the party begins.

If everyone fished for an average of 8 hours, wouldn't that be 1 fish for every 53 man/woman hours fished? I'm no good at math but ****...
Actually I sure wish I could have been there!

    Talking Great Day

We only caught one King 15lb. Had another one on but never seen it, it had to of been a very good one the way it acted. It was a very good day, good weather and good water. There was every size and shape of boat out there to day. Even say a long liner that had down riggers mounted on it and was trolling right along with everyone else. If you were not there you sure missed out. I don't have any word on the winning fish.

winning fish was (i hear) #34 and caught by the guy that owns fritz creek welding. consider this unofficial, i didn't hang around for the weigh in... by the time they were done with it i had taken a sauna and the one #10-12 fish we caught was in the oven.
great day, great weather, and pretty good fishing.

Tough luck for Charlie, if you could call 2nd place tough luck. Great guy, and the best welder I've ever seen.
