    Default Talon Air?

Has anyone used Talon Air for hunting before? My coworker is looking to use them for a caribou hunt.

Just curious-anyone know why they don't accept credit cards of hunts?

    Default Good Service

I used them for a fly in moose hunt last fall and was very pleased. The owner/pilot, wife and mother in law were very knowledgeable and helpful. Their location, float dock, planes and every think is fist class. I will defiantly use them again. I have no idea on the credit card thing.

My brother and I used them last fall. First class operation. Credit card charges can be denied and/or contested after payment.

Thanks for the replies. I searched it and found a few more good recommendations. Guess the credit card thing makes sense about being contested.

From what I have heard. After numerous people stoping payment it was no longer worth it. They had tourist fighting charges on bear viewing flights that did not see any bears. Just not worth the headache i guess.
My wife knows the owners wife and they truly put their heart into the operation.

Not to mention the 3-5% fee the credit card company takes off the top.

From all I have heard, Talon is a very good operation.

    Default Talon Air.

I have known the owner Alan helfer since he was 16 that was back in 1975.
I have flown with him and so have my friends. In fact my son in law, a FEDEX captain came on a caribou hunt with me. Upon landing the Otter on Mackey lake "that was the smoothest landing I have ever seen ' is what he told Alan.
Safe safe safe, what more do you want?

    Thumbs up

Thanks for the input. I told my coworker that the fellas on the forum gave Talon a big thumbs up; I searched the archives and couldn't find anything to the contrary.

Can't say I blame them on the credit card deal either...stop payments and 3-5% would discourage anyone from taking credit.

Flew with them last fall and was very pleased and would highly recommend them.
