    Default Tustumena

Has anyone fished Tustumena through the ice for lakers? If so, where, and how do you access the lake itself? From the landing?

    Default Tusty Lakers

Sayak, you may want to talk to the Fish and Chips biologist over on K-beach road about the Lakers in Tusty. I think I talked to one about 15 years ago asking the same Question, and the told me that the lake does not produce a very large population. Its not an exceptionally deep lake overall, and for some reason I think he told me that other than near the exit of the lake into Kasilof river, it is a waste of time...
Now I may be wrong,, but I used to entertain the same idea.
Now this being said,, I was launching my boat to go up to Bear Creek this fall, and a fellow was sitting on the bank next to the boat launch with a couple of Lakers on his stringer,, they were the under 2 lb variety and looked healthy enough...
hey lets go fishing up on the mystery creek sometime.
