    Default Phenominal conditions in Chugach

Yesterday at lunch I hiked up to the col by flattop, the trail was well packed and no ice, so boots and trecking poles were all that were needed. Temps were in the low 30's with the sun trying to break out from the clouds. Too bad I didn't have my ski's, plenty of untracked snow.

Today temps were high 20's with not a cloud in the sky. The snow had crusted up a bit from last nights freeze but was starting to soften by noon. I snowshoed out just past the bridge on teh O'Malley peak / middle fork loop trail. Too bad I hadn't been informed earlier my 1pm mtg had been cancelled, or I would have extended my hike a bit.

A nice thick snowpack, warm temps and plenty of sun. It doesn't get any better than that. I just need to remember to bring a camera.

Remembered a camera on Saturday, but had to work so only had time for a short hike.
