    Default installing a hatch

I am thinking about putting a hatch on the front platform of my boat, I have a 18/52 alweld, Does anyone have any recomandations or ideas? I dont even know where to start to look or what type to get. I do know I want something sturdy and strong say to step on or drag stuff on. Thanks

You said you wanted sturdy and strong. This would be my recommendation:
    FREEMAN HATCH

I have one on my boat. It may be a bit overkill for your application, but it is a start.

    Default Freeman Hatch

I would go w/ an oval freeman hatch. Its the best I've seen because of the latch system and price. Seattle Marine, Fisheries Supply, Redden Net, LFS and others have them. it'll run ya about 500.00 bucks. You can weld it in.
I just edited this because I didn't see spoiled ones post lol....anyway we're in agreement!
To make it completely water tight you have to have a friend lock you in inside it w/ a wrench while they run the garden hose over the hatch, you tighten the bolts on the latch mechanism till it quits dripping.
