Here's an example of what was killed in sand lake... we only caught the 1 pike but a bunch of char and lake trout.. too bad we couldn't have released them. It blows my mind that they couldn't have held some pike derbys or other measures first. There was some awesome fishing there last year! Does anyone know what f&g took out of there?

I talked to a friend at fish and game and he says there is no lake trout stock. Apparently its really hard to keep lake trout broodstock. Maybe this year is different? But thats the reason He told me when I asked why lake trout havent been stocked in 30 years.

just a couple lakers.. nothing bigger than like 22-23". mostly roe and shrimp kept us busy out there last year. Hopefully F&G do a nice job stocking and people practice catch and release. It was nice to have a quality lake in town..

that laker our buddy caught there was really cool....he stole 7 whole herring off his hook right in front of the school side dock.....finally hooked him and battled him for about 15 minutes...his first fish he ever caught in alaska....not bad, hope someday there are more like that....7lbs, 26", and fat...heres a pic.
