    Default snow or no snow

    if there is still snow on the ground do you put your bait out or do you wait till its all gown and you start seeing bear sign?

    We put our sites up even if there is snow. Our already established sites get hit first due to the prior years clientele. While new sites tend to take a little longer. IMO Its worth the effort to forge the snow to get bears on the bait sooner then later.

    As soon as I can get he boat in the river Ill have the bait out like baitem907 said the sooner you get he bait out the sooner you shouldhave a bear on the bait. Come on spring

    I've yet to have a bear on a bait before the first weekend of May regarless of snow level. Usually it gets hit right before the second weekend. That's what I base my planning on....snow or no snow.

    I put my bait out on the 15th regardless of weather conditions. I've had bear come in before May. I like to get it out there as soon as possible and get the scent in the air.

    Bears walking across the crusty snow add to the sensation of hearing them come in thru the trees long before you can see anything. Plus blood on snow is a great thing to see
