    Default Where to go

My wife and I are wanting to skin up and make some turns down some slopes tomorrow, but with all the avy alerts out there are a little gunshy. Anybody heading into the backcountry tomorrow or can reccomend some decent areas that are within 2 hour drive of Wasilla?

No skiing for me unless it's actively mitigated. It's a rough go for anything south of you for sure.

Be careful if you are out in the B/C tomorrow.

Don't come south......We go 32" of heavy, wet snow in the last 48 hours. They just opened the Hope Road after 20 hours of closure.

Maybe head towards Gunsight? I don't know what it's like off in that direction weather-wise, but south is a bad idea as previously mentioned. Or possibly just Hatcher Pass?

I keep hearing they have some pretty decent snow up there.

AK_Lanche: Where did you end up going? You got a Hatchers Report? I have been kind of gun shy about hatchers after getting a core shot on my new board up there earlier this season.
