Thumbs up Something to get people excited !

I'm looking to host a conehead fly swap with a deadline of April 30th. That should be plenty of time, So what do ya say anyone interested? If so please list the fly you will tie. i will tie A zebra/olive dolly llama. number of spots is 12 to include myself, So 12 flies will have to be made, the obeject is to recieve a fly and be able to replicate it. and everyone will recieve 1 fly from each member of the fly swap.

Not that I really needed anything else to get me excited, but count me in. Great idea!

As for what to tie, I'll have to give that a little thought. Will post back when I settle on something.

Count me in! I have been tying up some Sculpzilla variations so put me down for a dozen of them.

    P.S. I'm excited.

I don't know what I'll tie, but I'll join. I'll think and consult google a little more before I have a pattern, any suggestions?

    MOAL leeches
bugger variations (like an Autumn Slendor)
    sculpins
    muddler minnow variations
    stonehead nymphs

Just about any streamer or nymph can be tied as a conehead - this can be a fun time to experiment. Or even just another dolly llama variation if you find an interesting color of rabbit.

Thanks, I was also toying with the idea of adding a conehead to one of Kelly Galloup's trigger flies http://www.flyfisherman.com/content/trigger-flies - maybe a T&A Rainbow.

still need some more people, 8 spots available. If we cant get 12 then hopefully we can get at least 6. If only 6 then we can have 2 from each person.

All right... I've decided on a zuddler. It's been stuck in my head since tradbow mentioned it under the smolt flies thread.

I agree.. interest has been low. what gives everyone?

6 would work with everyone getting two of each pattern. Either way... now that I've settled on a fly time to hit the vise.

Right on, if worst comes to worst it will just be us 4, 3 from each. will see in the next couple weeks, i was hopeing the swap would be all filled up early, and possibly recieve and send all the flies before the deadline.

I've got over 2000 cones left over from a project a few years ago so I probably should get into this. Count me in! I'm really not too sure of what I will tie yet but is will be a nymph of some sort. Conehead maribou lake leeches are one of the first flies I throw as the lakes thaw so maybe some of those... Who knows what I'll tie, but I'm in.

Nice ties! Those look pretty sweet.

I suppose I better start on mine sometime soon... just haven't had a chance to hit the vice here lately.
