Share flight costs
I'm looking to do a week long trip to Lake Clark NP (or anywhere scenic and remote) the first week in August. I'm looking to share the flight costs and have a hiking partner. I'm an experienced backpacker, first time in Alaska. I have hiked in Grizzly country before and know how to avoid them.
Alternatively if there are any weeklong 7-8 day, remote hiking loops anyone could help me with within driving distance from Anchorage that would be cool as well, it would save me the nearly $2k to get into Lake Clark.
Flights are booked to Anchorage and I'm ready for the backcountry
some possible resources for you
and the real authority you need to get in contact with is
i wouldn't make a good partner for you because when i go packing out i am usually in search of something to take home- like dinner
happy hiking and -get with someone at MCA, asap
I would go to the Wrangells. You could proabably fly in for less than 1000 and be in a remote place with no one else or you could drive there and still enjoy solitude for less.
Thanks I'll check things out a bit more. The Wrangells do look pretty awesome.
Thanks for the links, I will get on the MCA website and see how things go from there.
