Default boat based for black bear

A friend of mine has a boat and is wanting to do a black bear hunt from it. What is the best direction to go? The boat is saltwater and we will be sleeping on board and running a zodiak to shore. Is is best to do this on Prince William Sound or go out of Seward? Thanks for any info you can give!! Eric

    Default Bear from boat

Eric you did not mention when you will be going.

If you are going soon it may be too late to see many on the beaches? Although from the boat you can certainly get some great spotting on the hillsides and then stalk. Regardless you will have a great time, make sure to throw some halibut fishing in the trip as well.

Others from the areas you mentioned would be better to advise on which areas would be the best.

    Wittier or Valdez.
Its getting late for the beaches, but like stated before, spotting the hillsides can be productive.
