Default Will they have to move start of Iditarod again?

How is the snow looking for the start of the Iditarod? will there be enough to start it in Williw or will it have to be moved to Fairbanks again?
If you board the wrong train, it is no use running along the corridor in the other direction.

Oh I would love for the start to be moved up here. But oh my, what a logistical PITA that would be for the mushers!

Plenty of snow in Willow to run dogs on. I saw guys training along the highway yesterday. We just got 6" of new snow 30 miles north of there, so I bet they did too. The only issue might be the river and it sounds like that might be an issue in FBKS too.

    Thumbs up Willow!!

Iditarod will be starting in Willow!! !
They contacted me last week to check and all is good here and up river. And with the new snow that we are getting today makes things look all the better. I will be marking the trail late on Sat. and grooming on Sun. before and after the race.

Well, since Fairbanks is having the 2nd lowest snow year on record EVER, I would guess they would not be aiming to start up there. With the new snow today, I think things would be just fine.

Thanks for the update Trailboss. While we ARE getting snow up here today, the river is open and they are wondering where the Iron Dog is going to have their finish line.
