I went to the Doctor to check out this pain in my knee I had for awhile. Well I was hoping he was going to tell me I'm getting old and just take 2 aspirin. Not the case. I have to have my ACL replaced tomorrow This will be my 6 knee surgery and 14 overall.. I think one more I get a set of steak knives
6 months of rehab. Now I'm shooting for Sept caribou hunt.

So who are you funding a hunt for? Read: Who has the knife? 6 knee surgeries and 14 overall...dang, Gary. What did you do in your former life?

    Wink

    Hate to hear that.

Know what you're going through. I went to Kodiak the week after I got off my crutches last spring. Didn't wander (hunt) far from camp, but I went anyway.

Saw my bear. Just couldn't get to him.

    Hope you heal quickly!

...I hope your knee is doing a lot better, and on the mend, Gary!

-is there a chance you can still get out there for your bear hunt??

I wish. It takes allot to get the boat ready and then to launch and recover. If I was to go I would have to have some friends that know how to do this. I enjoy watching from the boat friends stalk bears.

I hope all is well! I know what it's like to lose out on a hunt at the last secound. A year and a half ago I missed out on a elk hunt that I had waited and packed for and was 5 days from going, when I had chest pains. I went to the ER after friends and my Dr. said "go", well as it turned out I had a heart attack and had to have some work done. It was a good thing that I was not at 12000ft at elk camp.
You will just be in better shape for next year!
Good luck and keep your head up.
