    Default Ice out flies

Looking for some flies to tie for break up/ice out on some of the lakes around south central. Any one have their favorite fly/pattern they want to share.

I catch most of my ice out fish on small black or olive bead head woolybuggers or even regular wooly buggers completely unweighted if im fishing shallower water. I use a very slow retrieve as the water is obviously still pretty cold

Exactly the same patterns and strategies. I sometimes tie on a Hares Ear nymph, beadhead or plain as a trailer, but the biggest fish always come to the WB.

I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.
