    Default hip boots

Are Lacrosse boots the only hip waders worth buying? Im not a professional hunter or guide but would like a good pair of hip boots for occasional use. Are hodgman boots junk? Any other economical brands to choose from that people have used that hold up? Looking to buy some gear and just wanting peoples opinions for a poor boy like me
    thanks guys

You buy what you can afford. Hodgman has been a great boot for it's price. It all depends on what you plan on useing them for.

I'm trying something different this year... Neos River Trekkers.

Interested to see how they hold up. They are way lighter than Lacrosse type boot and the price was right.

Never had any problems with whatever brand is on the shelf at the Fred Meyer store. They hold up just fine and keep the water out.

Consider a nice pair of gel insoles. You know, the good stuff, $20/pair at hiking and outdoors stores. That helps any hip boot or wader boot feel much more comfortable and secure.
