    Default floating the sag river

i am looking to do the haul road again this year for caribou, and was wondering how dificult it is for a rookie to navigate the sag river. and does it take you five miles out from the road?

Do a search on the threads that are here - have been a few about the Sag, and a few people have died trying to float it. Not saying not to do it, but it's not something to take lightly.

Agreed with the search - there's lots of info - but a few short answers are:

-It will not take you five miles out. Hit Google Earth, but I think the furthest away it gets while still coming back to the road is about 2 miles.

-For short floats to just cover some ground and to get on the other side of the river (and therefore away from other hunters), it is reasonably easy.
