    Default Canned product for transist...

I've been assisting an elderly British fisherman who will be undertaking his first trip to Alaska. Today he threw a question at me that left me stumpped so I'm defraying to any of you that might have an answer.

He wants to know if there are any processors in the Anchorage/Wasilla area that will can his fresh salmon and then ship it.

If you have any answers please post them on this thread as he will then pick up on it.

    Thanks for your assitance...

There is one that I know of in the Deep Creek/Ninilchick area but can't remember the name.

I'm sure someone local does though.

Check with Indian Valley or Alaska suasage. I believe they both do. The question is........Is he aware how much it costs to ship from Alaska? Even parcel post could be a spendy roposition depending how much fish he has to ship.

If he has it canned he can ship USPS surface and save a ton of $$$$$.
It takes several weeks though as it ends up on a ship and slowly steams across the Atlantic.
