    Default Resurrection Bay

Lingcod fishing is prohibited year-round. Lingcod caught accidentally must be
released immediately. You cannot legally fish for any species of fish inside
Resurrection Bay if you possess a lingcod taken elsewhere.

    Copied from the regs.....

If you go east of Cape Res. to Johnstone Bay the limit goes to 2 fish.

Also if you have any lingcod on the boat that you've taken outside of Reserection Bay, you are not allowed to do any fishing once you come back into the bay.

I swear Seward has the most convulated regs. Say you do some silver fishing in the bay, you are allowed 6 silvers per person inside the bay, but 3 per person outside the bay. So if anyone has taken 4 fish inside the bay, you can't fish outside the bay. Say everyone has taken 3, you head outside the bay for halibut and rockfish. If no one has taken a ling, when you come back in the bay you can continue fishing for silvers. If you have a ling on board, no more fishing once you re-enter the bay.

I fish over that way a lot too, but if you are willing to go far enough to the west the fishing is great with a lot less pressure.

    Default Interpretation.......

"You cannot legally fish for any species of fish inside Resurrection Bay if you possess a lingcod taken elsewhere. "

Does this apply to the specific angler who caught the lingcod; or does it apply to everyone in the boat? That is, if one angler in the boat keeps a lingcod from outside R-Bay, is the entire boat prevented from fishing inside R-Bay?

The entire boat can't fish in R-bay if there is a ling on board.

Which is why folks can get persnickety on charters if somebody has taken a ling, and the rest of the folks can't fish once re-enteringt the bay.

it can get nasty but there are a lot more places to tuck away out west then there out east. From cape Res. to Elrington there isn't a whole lot of protection. The whole way out to Nuka Bay you can get into some very nice place to get out of the weather.
