Default What is the weight of barrel/action of a Ruger

Does anyone know how heavy the barrel and action of a Ruger Lightweight M 77 Hawkeye in 30 06 is?

The lightweight has a total gun weight listed as 6.5 # with a 20" barrel and walnut stock.

Any guesses as to what the barrel and action weigh from this rifle?

If I had to make a WAG I would say subtract 2 pounds from the published complete rifle weight in the specs and you will be close. The Ruger walnut stock doesn't have a lot of extra meat on it and probably weighs between 1.5-2.0 pounds.

The stock on my Ruger UL (older version) weighs 32 oz. It's exactly like the standard stock except with a skinny forend and three 3/4" holes bored in the butt.

Interestingly the full size walnut stock on my old Ruger comes in at 32.5 oz. Not much difference there, so obviously it's varies depending on the individual stick of wood.

I would expect the Hawkeye to be similar.
