Default Any other N.A.S.P instructors here?

I just finished my National Archery in the Schools Program training last night. Just curious of any other members out there are involved in this program with their local schools. I'd love to share info.

    Hey Doug,
My wife works at Central middle school and has completed the N.A.S.P. program as well about 2 months ago.

Do they have a program going now? Tim Thomas, the guy who heads up NASP for Alaska, says it's been tough in the Anchorage and Mat-Su School districts. I know that Mat-Su risk management shut us down for the elementary level.

    Default Yes

I am an instructor too. We started the program in the junior high a couple years ago and certified 3-4 people if we needed too. Our physical eduaction instructor does the training right now.

The high school physical eduation instructor recieved her training this year so we are doing it there now also.

Prince William SOund Community college is also doing the program.

Several teachers, and I as a volunteer, took the class. Looks like we start on the P.E. end of things in a couple weeks and I will help the P.E. teacher. We are going to jump right into a club to see if there is interest at competing. I'd love to see Tim's dream of a real live shoot for those able to attend in Anchorage, coupled with the current "virtual" shoot for those that can't make it, for a state tournament.

At Central they have it as an after school program. They are hoping it catches on in the other schools around Anchorage.
