Default How often are sets checked?

A snowmachine trail that I have been using for the last few years to access a ridge to ptarmigan hunt is being trapped this year. I think its good that he/she is up there trapping. But even though my dogs are in a carrier while getting to the ridge and Im not worried about them getting into the traps. I don't want to disturb his sets by riding my snowmachine thought to get to the ridge. So I went somewhere else. My question is: About how often are the set checked so that I might run into the trapper while out there and ask him if its ok If I use the trail to get through? There was no trucks in the parking lot so I couldn't leave a note on the windshield but there is several ways to access the area so he might be coming in from another way. I didn't have anything to write on but I think next time Ill leave a note for him to call me. I also wanted to let him know that there was some serious wolf sign in the area that he/she might be interested it. Judging by the terrain I would say they are probably marten sets but I really don't know.

I would say that most guys either run twice a week or only on weekends depending on how far they live from their traplines...

IMO, a week is as long as a check should be, depending on weather and trail conditions of course...
