    i use my back yard...

there is a place you can shoot off the beach too.. or some places you can set up .. but it all kind of depends on where you are and where your car can get to... there are several ranges along the highway system.. depends on which one your closest too...

Where do you live? That would help.

When does this happen at Rabbit Creek?

The HIT program annually conducts special “Sighting-In” days for hunters at the Rabbit Creek Shooting Park. During this special event, participating hunters have their hunting firearms checked out for any operational problems, then proceed to have their hunting loads chronographed to determine actual velocity. Hunters then have their hunting firearm’s actual velocity entered into a sophisticated ballistics computer program that provides them a printout of their firearm’s trajectory at normal hunting distances.

Equipped with this information, hunters proceed to sight in their firearms according to the trajectory chart. After sighting in their firearms, hunters then move to a special field range where they test their firearm under field conditions at full-sized big game silhouettes.

Have you tried the public range off of South Cushman? Its a pretty nice free range. The last bit of the road can be a little bumpy, but its no worse than half of the roads around here anyway.

Yep, the range past the landfill is one of the free ranges in Fairbanks where you can do trap and pistol at the same location. One of the others is at approximately 36 Mile Chena Hot Springs Road (CHSR).

Haven't bothered to go back to the South Cushman Range, but I like the 36 mile one.
