    Default 41 Mag Ammo

Anyone know who sells 41 mag ammo here in Los Anchorage. Can't find any at Sportsmans or WallMart. Looking for the heavy loads, not the cheap plinker stuff.

Default go to a gun store

You're probably going to have to swing by a gun shop for 41 rounds. I've recently bought rounds from Ammo King and Great Northern Guns.

    Good round.

Sportsmans usually carries the 250 grain cast cores, thats what i carry. Walmart might have em. What a let doen Sportsmans warehouse has become. They might as well fold up shop and leave if there not gonna carry what we want.

I had a really sarcastic reply written but I realized that would not help you, wouldn't be in the spirit of this forum, and would diminish me, all at the same time. Instead, I'll just suggest you try shopping at a gun store. Maybe some of the sponsors of this forum, or any of the others in town.

Well I have seen it all over at one time or another but never a steady supply anyplace. If you are a 41 guy you really should get into reloading to get the full potential from this round anyway. So buy it when you see it and roll your own 41s would be my advice for what it's worth.

ADFIELDS is right on. You just can't reliably find 41Mag ammo let alone heavy weight loads in Anchorage. I also cast my bullets so I have those when I want. And, at less than $.15@, I can afford to shoot it enough to be able to hit things. At the price of specialty ammo,at about $1.50@, it won't take long to pay for a loading outfit.

    Default Problem solved

Bought some 250 grn Corbon's from the BX of all places. Will have to break out my 41 dies and look at some reloading in the shed.

I haven't bought any store bought ammo in about 30yrs except rimfire. What do those Cor Bon's cost at the BX. If you get your loader setup and need some cast 220gr or 240gr boolits let me know as I have molds for both.

    Default BX

I think I paid $34 a box. While I reload rifle bullets with no problem I had difficulties with crimping pistol bullets. Gonna try again this spring.

Do you have a separate crimp die? If not, go buy Lee Factory crimp die and crimp in a separate step. Redding makes em as well but are more spendy.
