    Thinking hard on ice fishing the mouth of the deshka on sunday probably by Mike and Merits. Burbot will be the target. any thought on this...

    well we did it 4 of us set 15 tip-ups across the river, up and down from mike amd merts 2 feet of ice and 18" - 2 ' of water everywhere we drilled. Normally is 6-8 foot in the summer. Clear water and some current. 5 hours of fishing and we caught 0 fish and 0 flags. Used herring, hooligan, eggs, shrimp. was a nice day though.

    Isn't the Deshka closed to all bait this time of year, even for burbot?
    At least that's how I read the regs...correct me if I am wrong.

    No for burbot you can use bait has to be on bottom and hooks must be 3/4 inch wide from shank. I called fish and game and this is what I was told.
