Default Custom Stock work in AK

I have a Remington Model 11F Sportsman with a cracked fore stock.

In the past I tried ordering a replacement fore stock, but the one I recieved was lower grade wood and fit very poorly, the end was cut too large for the end cap and magazine tube.

I would like to find someone in Alaska that can make an exceptable high grade replacement stock.

Any recommendations? Anyone I can send the old stock to and have a duplicate made?

If no one is available in AK, do you have any recommendations outside?

    Thanks,
    Ralph

Sure there are a few that can do the work. But you had better have some really deep pockets and a year or two to wait . You need to know that they would charge more than the firearm is worth by a factor of four or five times.

    Thanks Big Al,
Yeah I figure it will be expensive, but I'd still like to have it repaired. It has sentimental value in excess of the dollar value.

Does anyone have any experience using Macon Gunstocks from Warsaw, Mo? Can anyone attest to their quality?

Yes and they have been good. You do need to ship the whole gun to them so they can fit and match the wood to the butt stock. Call them and talk over what you want done.

Another option would be Wenig. I hope I spelled the right. Same town if I recall correctly?

    Thanks Big Al,

I'll give them a call when I get home.
