    Default How far from Fairbanks?

I'm not new to predator hunting (though I'm not great at it neither) bbut I am new to hunting in Alaska. My question is how far and in which direction from Fairbanks should I go to get away from hunting/trapping pressure? Can I stay somewhat near town and still have a reasonably fair chance of finding predators? Thanks, Mike

I don't think you can get away from trappers. I've been all the way to Circle, Livengood, Nenana and Paxson, and you'll find trappers in all directions off the highways and bi-ways. Don't worry about it though, just call in areas where you're not on an actual trap-line and you'll be fine. Most anything close to town will be hit pretty hard though, or that's what I've seen at least. Call the thicker stuff or hunt the rivers, just be careful out on those rivers.
