    Default UHMW OB Jet Intake

I've a few friends running poly intakes. So far, I've heard nothing but positive reviews.

Rockproof boats offer a poly foot that is injection molded as where the one in the link above is machined. No idea which one is better but I just wish one of them would offer a medium size rather than just large..

I am thinking a bigger pump on my 40hp Yamaha 4 stroke might be a bit much

    Kevin,
Do you know if there is any "performance" to be gained w/ the poly foot?
    As in better water flow?
Other than lighter and more durable?

I'll ask about the performance aspect. Can't say I've heard it mentioned. There's several of my buds running them on rock ledge flows. This is where the UHMW foot shows it's worth. I was a passenger in a craft that hit the foot so hard, it tossed my glasses outta the boat and smashed half the grill bars flat. We straightened the bars best we could and continued fshing. The foot was fine.

Default I could have used one

2 years ago I goofed and turned right instead of left. Oooops. Big rocks and no water equaled jet foot broken in 1/2. The only thing holding the toe on were the pins through the bars on the heel. OUCH@!#$%
We limped to camp and I roped, wired, and strapped it back together. 3 guys, camp and meat and we just moseyed back downriver to the landing. I almost hated to cut the rope later I was so proud of that repair. Before I made the cut I did launch the boat in front of the house and ran it hard just to see if she'd hold. Simply amazing what some good old ingenuity, parachute cord, and bailing wire will do.
