    Default Girdwood

    Looking to explore the ice caves out of Girdwood...any advice?

    I presume you are referring to the ice caves at Skookum Glacier. Motorized access isn't currently permitted due to a lack of snow cover. It is snowing in Girdwood right now and hopefully the Forest Service will see fit to allow access soon. Keep up to date at the following website: http://www.cnfaic.org/advisories/current.php?id= Skookum is out the Placer drainage on the North side. When it is open there are a couple tour companies that keep a good trail in up to the caves.

    North side? the one i know of is on the east side.
