I'm reading a book called "Winning Strategies for Distance Mushers" by Joe Runyan and had to share this quote from him.
The primitive aspects, the kind of primeval experience…is the defining dimension of dog mushing. Somehow, mushing dogs, whether fast or slow, seems to satisfy very well the deep urge to be barbaric and escape modernism. If it was entirely our goal to get from point A to B of course, we would use snowmachines to break the winter silence. Joe Runyan.
