    Question Can you hear this?

Can you guys check this out for me? I posted a link to an interview with Doug Paymer, the sponsor of this forum, in an earlier thread. I'm finding out that not everyone can hear it. I can hear it just fine.

The interview is in a link in the announcements and on the Optics forum. This is the link.

I'd like to understand more about this, because I would like to post more audio in the future. The report I get from some users is: The current playlist has no file in it. Please check for a corrupted file.

If you can hear it please just vote "yes".

If you CANNOT hear it, please note "no" AND post a reply here. Tell me: 1) what kind of operating system you are using (Windows, Mac, Linux, etc); 2) what kind of browser you are using (IE6, IE7, Firefox, Mozilla, WebTV, etc); 3) what error message you got.

Thanks! I really appreciate your help with this.

Click the link, select open, notepad opens with this inside http://www.outdoorsdirectory.com/audio/doug_paymer.mp3
    that's it.

    Windows XP, latest IE

I noticed the file is in mp3 format. I wonder if that has something to do with it. I have never run mp3 files that I know of. Do they require a particular program?

If you open Windows Media Player Tools > Options > File Types and check MP3 audio file (mp3) it should then play this file.

Try clicking the link in your message. It might play it....did on mine.

Thanks for the negative report. This helps.

On a Mac just clicking the link it plays it in iTunes. I suppose if you install iTunes on a PC it may do the same. Free download here http://www.apple.com/itunes/

    Default Works great!

    David,

I clicked on the link and it played just fine on my Mac (but, that's no surprise, is it?) Heh...

Sounds a bit tinny though. Maybe needs more bass?
