    Default Jet's Versus Props...

Does my 50/35 jet throw more or less wake than a 35hp prop? I personally feel that jets should be measured at the pump and not at the powerhead since a jet unit takes 33% of the power isn't that a detune? Anyrate the reason I ask is if the Kenai goes to 50, would a 60/40 jet be legal?

Parks has always taken the power at the power head as the rating for the motor. Several of us who live above the Soldotna bridge where there are LOTS of rocks tried to get that changed a few years ago and were told nope- powerhead rating is what they intended and what they enforce. I can fish in front of my house only at high water times of year with a prop....usually very late June at the earliest. With a jet I could fish there all season.

Light Boat + light motor = fast boat drawing very little water
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.
