Thread: Store wise who is the most helpful?

Default Store wise who is the most helpful?

While I shop at sportsmans, walmart, 3 rivers and freddys and I talk to all the folks at each department. Which in your opinion has the most knowledge and is willing to help or steer you in the right direction when it comes to fishing, what to use and the places to find them.

I had a guy in Sportsmans show me his favorite Burbot lures AND give me a map for Big lake with markings on it of his favorite locations. Another guy in there told me some good Char areas.

3 Rivers it depends on the day. Sometimes they are really helpful and knowledgeable and other days it seems like they could care less.

    Default sportsmans

In fairbanks I like Sportsmans the best. Frontier outfitters is also good but I have gotten better fishing advice and help from Sportsmans.

    Exactly.

What's great about Trusty is if the employees don't know what's going on there's 50 other people shopping in the store that will help with info (guides and nonguides alike).

    Thumbs up Trustworthy

Trustworthy in Soldotna gets my vote.
Sometimes its funny to see a 70 year old male retiree getting advice from a 20 year old woman who looks to be just out of high school. But they do know whats going on and how to set up for it. If not one of the managers is always happy to come out and discuss things with customers.

B&J hands down. Trustworthy in Soldotna is great for Kenia area and Tackle store on the homer spit across from the fishing hole was also good when I was first getting started several years back.

Another vote for B&Js. Only problem there is every time I go in, I find something else I can't live without.

B&J's gets my vote and agree with the last post. I don't think I have ever gone in that store and left empty handed.
